EXPOSITION

The peace of God (Shalom) is a prerequisite for prosperity.  Anytime the peace of a community is disturbed, decay begins in all aspects of their lives. The United Nations General Assembly on 24th September, 2014 stated that Peace means dignity, well-being for all, not just absence of war. Human dignity is God given, a person is born with it. By making us in His image, God has clothed humans EVEN you, no matter their colour or language, class or status with this. This dignity can be eroded by lack of peace. The ancient Israelites at the time of this prophesy were reduced to fetchers of water and firewood making them second class citizen to the extent that even when God want to restore them, they feel that cannot be possible. This is how some of us are today: our minds are programmed to serve others and we remain in servitude.  We have been made to believe that we cannot do great things, ours is the ‘little’ ones.

Beloved, that is not the plan of God the creator for you. His nature to accomplish great things is imbedded us: including you, for He made us including you in His IMAGE. This image is with great dignity, this is what the Israelites lost in their seventy-and-over years in slavery. God having looking at what was deposited in them and how weak they became, vow to restore them. God said ‘I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great wrath (Zech. 8:2). It was not ordinary jealousy but great jealousy. It sad to see people who ought to be owners begging for arms and those who ought to be heirs behaving like slaves. This was the wrath that led Elohim to initiate the restoration of His people. There would have been no need for restoration if their dignity was not eroded. Friends, we were not made to be failures, we were made to be victorious and accomplish great thing as the one who made us.

Agreeing with God and returning to Him is the first to step to having that peace that births divine prosperity. Agreeing with God activates a brighter future starting from now. Listen to what God declared: “..I will save my people …….. I will bring them to life ….they shall be my people and I will be their God in faithfulness and in righteousness (Zech.8:7-8).” Hallelujah! Looking at the personal pronoun He used; ‘I,’ shows that it is His personal decision, He God will surely save all who turn to Him and grant them the peace that will make their vine to  yield its fruits, their ground to give its produce and cause them to posses their possessions.

Let us not be afraid, the Lord in Zech.8:14-16 has purposed in His heart to do good to us and restore us. All we need is to do justice to all manner of people by telling ourselves and others the truth and be an instrument of peace and justice wherever we find ourselves.

CONCLUSION

Beloved, the Lord our God is ready to give us the needed atmosphere to prosper, all we need is to return to Him the creator and live by His Word, and a wholistic prosperity will be ours now and forever more. Amen.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, help us to wake up to our calling and yield to your perfect will for us to have the needed peace that will lead us and our nations it to divine and wholistic prosperity in Jesus Name. Amen.
