LEAP OF INSIGHT (LUKE 2:15-21)
The theme for our reflection is “Leap of insight”. To have a leap of insight is to gain a deeper understanding of something or a series of events.
Dear friend, as the plot of the story of our salvation unfolds, other actors are drawn onto the stage. The Shepherds were privileged to hear the news of the birth of the King of the world and were told where they will find Him. “When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” 16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. Luke 2:15-16
It is important to note that all the other happenings around the birth of Christ gave Mary a leap of insight into God’s salvation plan for the world and her role as one of the key human actors in God’s plan, thus “. 19 …Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.” (Luke 2:17-19). God uses other happenings or events in our lives to give us a deeper understanding of His mission and our calling on earth. We are encouraged to reflect or ponder over every situation we encounter or experience because God deepens our knowledge and insights of His will for our life through happenings or events around us. Mary after receiving the Shepherds and their mission in her abode, had a better and deeper appreciation of what God is doing in her life, the life of her baby and the world. Dear friend, treasure the good and bad moments or experiences in your life because they give you insight into God’s plans and purpose over your life.
In summary, we have discovered that the events that unfold in our lives give us a leap of insight into God’s plans and purposes for our lives. We are encouraged to treasure and give glory to God for the happenings or events we experience in our lives.Shalom.
PRAYER
Almighty God grant us the spirit of discernment and wisdom to gain leaps of insight into every circumstance we find ourselves in and the happenings around us so that we may please you in all that we do. Amen.
