Jesus, light of the Gospel.

REFLECTION

Light shines out of darkness is the theme for our reflection. Paul explains to the church of Corinth the importance of the Gospel as light to those who were in darkness and have been saved. Jesus is the subject matter of the Gospel therefore he wrote that “… what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2 Corinthians 4:5-6)

My dear friend in Christ, having Jesus in your life is the greatest joy and fulfilment a believer can experience in this World while awaiting the final redemption and second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Walk with Jesus in the 2022 and beyond and your life will be a fulfilling one. Do not harden your heart in the darkness of sin for “… even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Corinthians 4:3-4). For this reaon, Jesus the light came to save us, for “In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:4-5). Share this Good News with someone today if you believe in Jesus and and you are a beneficiary of the grace, light, life and peace He has brought into your life. If by the grace of God you are reading this reflection and still experiencing an emptiness and darkness in your life because of sin, Jesus is right next to you through the power of the Holy Spirit, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9). Shalom.

PRAYER

Holy Spirit, enable us to recieve Jesus the light that shines in the darkness of Sin. Empower us to overcome the god of this world and remain victorious in Jesus the light of our Salvation. Amen
