Light and darkness.

REFLECTION

Come to the light is the theme for our reflection. It a natural human inclination to yearn for light where there is darkness. We try every possible means to create or get access a source of light when darkness persists. In the same manner, our souls and spirits need eternal light to remain at peace and joyful.

Sin represents darkness and spiritual death and Jesus on the other hand is our Light and Life. When we keep sinning we can never come to the Light and can never please God. It is for this reason Jesus admonishes us in John 3:19-21 that “… this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” In other words, when Jesus lives in you, the light is in you therefore your deed or work pleases God. You no longer have any relationship with darkness. You are saved!

My dear friend, the best decision anyone has ever made in life is to leave a life of darkness and come to the Light. This was the decision the prodigal son made when he said “I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son. (Luke 15:18-19). Beloved in the Lord, “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” (John 3:17). Come to the Light and experience life in its fullness in Christ Jesus. Shalom

PRAYER

Holy Spirit, may those who are in darkness experience a spiritual and moral revival in their lives so that they will come to Jesus, who is our light and salvation. Amen
