REFLECTION
Called to teach and heal is the theme for our reflection. To teach means to impact knowledge. To heal means to cause an unhealthy person to become sound and healthy again. Jesus’s two fold ministry is to lead people to Salvation by teaching them the true way of life and on the other hand, bring healing to those who yearn to be with him, follow him and accept His teaching as the Messiah.
There are many who troop in crusade grounds and revival programmes mainly to recieve healing or experience a miracle but not necessarily to hear the teaching of Christ (the Gospel) and to seek a deeper relationship with God. Luke wrote that Jesus “…stood on a level place, with a great crowd of his disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. And those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured. And all the crowd sought to touch him, for power came out from him and healed them all.” (Luke 6:17-19)
My dear friend, let us always crave for the Word of God which is the teaching of Christ. The Gospel shows us the Will of God and enables our faith to grow in the Lord. On countless occasions people’s faith in Jesus brought them healing and restoration becuase they heard His teaching and believed in Him. His teaching brings about spiritual enlightenment, maturity and salvation while His healing brings about total liberation from sickness and unclean spirit. Remain blessed by the knowledge of His Word and His healing power. Shalom.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, may we remain focused on your teaching and be healed through our faith in you. AMEN
