REFLECTION
Healing truth is the theme for our reflection. Jesus’s comforting and hopeful words is meant to bring healing to those who are hated, excluded, reviled and whose names are spurned as evil, on account of him (Luke 6:23)
You may be going through struggles or challenges becuase of your faith in Jesus. You will be hated becuase you have refused to participate in corruption. Your name will be excluded from the promotion list or contract becuase you always stand for what is right and just before God. Certainly, you will be reviled or abused by the wicked and your name and reputation tarnished for being a true disciple of Christ at your workplace and among your family and friends. It can be painful and frustrating when you find yourself standing alone or among the few who have the conviction to follow Jesus regardless of the consequences. The beatitudes found in Luke 6:20-23 are healing truth that assures us that no matter the challenges and struggles God is with us and He will reward us with Salvation and eternal joy. It should however be noted that those who live a life of deception and wickedness are captured under the woes Jesus pronounced in Luke 6: 24-26. In other words if truth heals then deception destroys therefore “Woe to you, when all people speak well of you…”(Luke 6:26) but you know you are living a life of deception. Shalom
PRAYER
Almighty God, may your healing truth sustain us your faithful disciples in times of tribulation. May we have the full assurance and encouragement that you are with us to the end of the age. Amen.
