REFLECTION
The sun brings forth is the theme for our reflection. Following yesterday’s theme, the power of a storm, today we are considering the theme the sun brings forth. Truly the sun brings forth hope after the storm. The stubbornness of Pharaoh brought about untold hardship and plagues upon him and his people. In Exodus 9:22-33 Egypt experience a storm with hail that destroyed life and property.
Today, we read about the blessings of the tribes of Israel, particularly the generation of Joseph. “And of Joseph he said, “Blessed by the LORD be his land, with the choicest gifts of heaven above, and of the deep that crouches beneath, with the choicest fruits of the sun and the rich yield of the months, with the finest produce of the ancient mountains and the abundance of the everlasting hills, with the best gifts of the earth and its fullness and the favor of him who dwells in the bush. May these rest on the head of Joseph, on the pate of him who is prince among his brothers. (Deuteronomy 33:13-16). In other words no condition is permanent, the Lord is forever gracious to us, after the storm of hardship, the sun brings forth hope and blessings. Praise the Lord! Shalom.
PRAYER
Almighty God, strengthen us to endure in faith and prayer when we experience the power of the storm so that we may rejoice in your salvation when the sun brings forth your blessings.
