REFLECTION

Blessed assurance is theme for our reflection. Blessed assurance is God’s promise of divine favour upon His children. Israel recieved an assurance of God’s blessings and protection while in captivity.  “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.” (Isaiah 43:1-3)

My dear friend in the Lord, the Lord does not forsake us or look on while we suffer on account of our sins. He makes a way where there is no way through our repentance and faith in Him. Although the Israelites had gone into captivity and exile on account of their disobedience, God assured them of His blessings, salvation, protection and restoration. This is important because the present generation should not be responsible for the woes of future generations. The blessings assured the present generation would surely be fulfilled by God even if it means pouring the blessings on the the next generation. To recieve the assured blessings of God, the next generation must follow the way of the Lord and remain faithful to Him. Let us endeavour to do the will of God and please Him through faith and obedience so that our current generation and posterity shall enjoy the full assurance of God’s blessings. We owe our children and the generations to come a life and upbringing centred on God and commitment to His will. Shalom.

PRAYER

Merciful God,  please forgive us our trespass, grant us long life and Good health to fully recieve our blessings and even witness that of our children and great grandchildren. Amen.
