REFLECTION
Are you sitting comfortably is the theme for our reflection. To be comfortable means to you are physically at ease and relaxed. James admonishes the recipients of his letter to make prayer and faith core elements of their relationship with God.
A prayer of faith by a believer brings great comfort to him or herself and others connected to him or her. Prayer of faith moves God to intervene in our struggles or challenging situation. Unfortunately most Christians of our time are prayerless therefore are unable to sit comfortably. My dear friend you can sit comfortably even in your challenges when you trust God and have a strong prayer life. “The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.” (James 5:16-18). In 1 Samuel Chapter 1-2:11 indicates to us that Hannah never felt comfortable until she had prayed for God’s plan and purpose to fulfilled in her life. She needed a son, She prayed a prayer of faith and God granted her request. How is your prayer life? Are you sitting comfortably without a strong prayer life? Rise up and begin to develop a closer relationship with God through your prayer life. Shalom.
PRAYER
Holy Spirit, please grant us the appetite and hunger for prayer so that in drawing closer to God we shall sit comfortably in hope and peace even in the turbulent times of our lives. Amen
