REFLECTION

The theme for our reflection is God understands everyone. When you buy a brand new car from an automobile company, the company highly recommends that you service the car at their outfit or bring it for repairs when it develops a fault of any kind. Taking a new or specially engineered vehicle to a random mechanical engineer may be a risky idea since the automobile manufacturer best understands the technology and engineering of their vehicles. Similarly no one understands us best than God who is our creator (manufacturer).

We must understand that we are like automobiles engineered to function in a particular manner, if we fail to function in the manner we have been designed then we are faulty and need to be fixed. It is only God who understands our engineering and can restore us. In the spiritual realm, a faulty automobile can be likened to a blind person. A blind person here is not one who is physically blind but a person who has lost moral and spiritual consciousness of God and His will as result of sin and idol worship. It is for this reason, God spoke through the Prophet Isaiah to the nation Israel that “I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them. They are turned back and utterly put to shame, who trust in carved idols, who say to metal images, “You are our gods.” (Isaiah 42:16-17).

Dear friend in the Lord, God understands everyone including those who are lost or spiritually blind. He is a compassionate God, it for this reason when Jesus realized that Zacchaeus who was blind but was eager to know who the Christ was, He said to Zacchaeus “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today. So he hurried and came down and received him joyfully…“Today salvation has come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19:6-7,9-10). The invitation is still being thrown to all and sundry today, God understands that many are living in the darkness of sin. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” (John 3:16-17). If you have already been found by Jesus, then kindly share this message and many others on the NBNB website with others you care about to understand that God loves them regardless of their sinful nature. “… God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.” (Romans 5:8-9). Be a channel of hope and transformation by letting someone know that regardless of their situation in life, God understands them and has a plan for them. All that is required is repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11). Shalom.

PRAYER

Merciful God, we are grateful that you understand us and you never plan to abandon those who are spiritually blind in the darkness of sin. You continually love us and graciously invite us through our Lord Jesus Christ to come to you. Dear God, enable us through the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit to remain in the light of our salvation even as we lead others into your loving and redemptive arms. Amen
