REFLECTION

In God’s hand is the theme for our reflection. The Psalmist praises God for His mercy, care and love for humanity especially those who trust in the Lord. It is important to understand that if someone or something is placed in your hand it means you are responsible for the care and safety of the person or thing. The Psalmist acknowledged that the provident hand of God satisfies the needs of His people “You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing. The LORD is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works. The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.” ( Psalm 145:16-19)

Dear fried in the Lord, it is refreshing and heart-warming to be reassured that our faith in God is worth it because our lives are in His hand. Paul further reassures us that “For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.” (Roman 14:8-9). In other words, our lives are in God’s hand while we are on earth, again, when Jesus comes the second time, our lives will be finally saved from this corrupt and evil world and we shall continue to be in God’s hand forever. The only caveat for the unrepentant and evil doers is that “The LORD preserves all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.” (Psalm 145:18). The mercy of God is still available through Jesus Christ and His hand is ready to hold, protect and give salvation to whoever repents and seeks Him today. This is the reason Jesus Christ came into the world so that all may have a place in God’s hand through repentance and regeneration. The decision is yours to make now if you have not given your life to Christ Jesus so that He will usher you into the loving and provident hand of God. Shalom.
