REFLECTION

The theme for our reflection is the Spirit of life. The Spirit of life is another name for the Spirit of God or the Holy Spirit. Prophet Ezekiel having been given a proof of God’s glory through a vision in Chapter 1, the Lord official called Him and made him a Prophet. A Prophet is one called to declare the Word or the Will of God to His people.

It is important to note that without receiving a call and the empowerment of Spirit of life a person cannot be a an impactful Prophet. A Prophet is must be fearless and speak the Word of life to people who are spiritually and morally dead.  It is for this reason Ezekiel narrated his supernatural encounter with the Lord when he received the Spirit of life to function as a Prophet, “And he said to me, “Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak with you.” And as he spoke to me, the Spirit entered into me and set me on my feet, and I heard him speaking to me. And he said to me, “Son of man, I send you to the people of Israel, to nations of rebels, who have rebelled against me. They and their fathers have transgressed against me to this very day. The descendants also are impudent and stubborn: I send you to them, and you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD.’ And whether they hear or refuse to hear (for they are a rebellious house) they will know that a prophet has been among them.” (Ezekiel 2:1-5).

Beloved in the Lord, comparatively our generation is not substantially different from the Israelites of Ezekiel’s era. We also live in a rebellious generation with people indulging themselves in all manner evil practices and abomination. A cursory observation of social media tells you the level of moral decadence and high level spirit mortality our generation is experiencing. We need men and women filled with the Spirit of life to rise on their feet, listen to the voice and direction of God and declare the Word and Will of God fearlessly to a rebellious generation. If men and women who are called by God and anointed with the Spirit of life into a dying generation are unable to declare God’s Word, then many will perish in their sins. Pastors perform the role a Prophet when they declare God’s will to His people. It is important to note that God has given the Spirit of life to His anointed servants to lead His people onto the path of life and righteousness. When people repent and accept God’s will for their lives, the Spirit of life comes into their lives, guides and sustains them to continually please God and receive His immeasurable glory and blessings. May you be filled with the Spirit of life to experience the a new life and the glory of the Lord. Shalom.

PRAYER

Almighty God, fill us with the Spirit of life so that those who are rebellious in our generation will be morally and spiritually revived through the hearing and the studying of Your Word from those You have anointed with the Spirit of life to be the Prophets (Pastors, Teachers, Evangelist) of our time and generation. Amen
