REFLECTION

The theme for our reflection is Divine re-creation. Re-creation means to form anew. Divine re-recreation means God forming anew or build again that which has been destroyed. We shall recall in our previous reflection of Ezekiel Chapter 10 that God caused a divine destruction by taking away His Spirit and glory from Israel to render them vulnerable so that their enemies could besiege them and take them captives. Today hope is restored because what has been divinely destroyed would be divenely re-created. “…‘Thus says the Lord GOD: Though I removed them far off among the nations, and though I scattered them among the countries, yet I have been a sanctuary to them for a while in the countries where they have gone.’ Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: I will gather you from the peoples and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.’ And when they come there, they will remove from it all its detestable things and all its abominations. And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in my statutes and keep my rules and obey them. And they shall be my people, and I will be their God. But as for those whose heart goes after their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their deeds upon their own heads, declares the Lord GOD.” (Ezekiel 11:16-21). In other words, divine re-creation will take place when the Spirit of God or the glory of God is restored among the people.

Beloved in the Lord, we serve a compassionate God who continues to love His children even after He has punished them on account of their sins and unrepentance. We worship the God who never gives up on His children. He is ever willing to give us a new heart and a new spirit if only we repent and walk in His statutes, keep His Word and obey them faithfully. He will re-create us and make us His beloved children. He will forever be our God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We experience divine re-creation when the Lord restores His Spirit and glory in our lives and empowers us through the Holy Spirit to overcome temptations and become faithful disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ in a sinful and lost world. Let us accept God’s offer of divine re-creation of our wretched and scattered lives and be transformed to live a victorious and righteous life. Shalom.

PRAYER

Loving Father, we aknowledge that sin has made us incomplete, divinely re-create us to live according to Your will and for Your glory. May we be found worthy of our salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ so that through us others who are lost may be found through our new divinely re-created and transformed lives. Amen
