REFLECTION

Pro-creativity is the theme for our reflection. Procreativity is the capability to reproducing. Hannah was given the ability of procreativity hence she gave birth to five more children. After Hannah and Elkana had dedicated Samuel to the service of God, Eli prayed for Elkanah and Hannah to have more children after Samuel. “May the LORD give you children by this woman for the petition she asked of the LORD.” So then they would return to their home. Indeed the LORD visited Hannah, and she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters…(1 Samuel 2:20-21). In other words, when the Lord visits you, your situation never remains the same, you move from procreation to procreativity.

Dear friend, in the Lord Hannah was once upon a time barren but God intervened through fervent and ceaseless prayer. Hannah procreated and gave birth to Samuel who she and the husband vowed to give to the Lord as a living sacrifice. Hannah did not stop praying because she had Samuel, she continued to pray for more children because she served the Lord of abundance and the Lord of the harvest who through Jesus Christ assured us that “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8). Dear friend, Hannah “prayed without ceasing” as Paul will greatly encourage us to do in 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Hannah moved from an episode of procreation to an awesome state of procreativity where she became a mother of five children in addition to Samuel. Certainly, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.” (Mark 10:27). Hannah’s story teaches us that a single episode of procreation is not the end of God’s intervention in your life, that is only the beginning, if only you would trust the Lord and completely rely on His will for your life through hardwork, endurance, faith and prayer, you shall exude procreativity in your business, marriage, academics and all your profitable and meaningful endeavors in life. Indeed, you shall experience a state of exponential and overwhelming blessings. Shalom.

PRAYER

Dear Lord, may our steadfastness through prayer and faith move us from an episode of procreation to series of procreativity. Amen.
