LIFE THROUGH THE SON (JOHN 5:16-27)
The theme for our reflection is “Life through the Son” A person is described as a life giver when he or she signifies positivity, guidance, inspiration and hope in the life of others. We shall underscore the fact that we have the life or salvation through Jesus, the Son of God.
Beloved in the Lord, the life or salvation is found in Jesus because anyone who encounters Jesus with faith and humility, experiences physical, spiritual and eternal transformation. Jesus is life and salvation because He makes us understand that, “For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel. For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom he will…Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.” (John 5:20-21,24) In other words, although we have never seen God, we experience His gift of life through His Son. For Jesus said, ““…All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me” (Matthew 28:16). Jesus, remains the vessel through which we encounter God as life and salvation in the world. Unlike the unbelieving Jews who failed to see or experience life through the Son, we have experienced the life through the Son, through repentance, faith and regeneration. We must continue to live in His salvation even as we prepare to be ushered into the eternal life. If we reject the Son then we no longer have the life that comes through Him. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” (John 3:16-17). Let those who are dying come to the life and let those who have experienced the life continue to live in it.
In summary, we have reflected on the theme “Life through the Son” We have discovered that we have the life or salvation through Jesus, the Son of God.. Shalom.
