REFELCTION

The theme for our reflection is “To Him who is able”. To be able means having sufficient power, skill, or resources to do something or being able to solve a problem. We shall reflect on the fact that while we are unable or limited in our abilities, we rely on the God who is able to do more than we require of Him.

Beloved in the Lord, as mere mortals who are limited in our abilities, we must rely on God at all times because He is able. Paul prayed for the Ephesians, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21. This prayer reflects God’s omnipotence and overwhelming providence and grace in the lives of His people. The God who is with us in the time of scarcity, lack or wants is the same God who overwhelms us with abundant grace and riches. No wonder David testified that “The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,

he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. (Psalms 23:1-3). We are greatly encouraged not to rely on other gods or our feeble might or abilities, but to completely put our trust in the God who can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.

In summary, we have been reminded and greatly encouraged that our God is able to provide needs abundantly. Shalom.

PRAYER

May the Holy Spirit strengthen us to trust our God, who is able to sustain us beyond our needs and imagination. Amen.
