Solomon explains the importance and blessings of having wisdom.

REFLECTION

In a world full of folly and the temptation to learn and believe in false doctrines and practices, a believer needs a deep-rooted wisdom to be discerning.

Where do we Christians receive our deep-rooted wisdom from? Proverbs 9:10 tells us that “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.” In other words, you cannot have deep-rooted wisdom if you do not fear the Lord. In the same manner, you will lack insight if you do not know God. This is why it is possible that a child who fears God and knows God will have deep-rooted wisdom and insight to overcome and solve life’s issues better than an adult with all the academic certificates and credentials but lacks the wisdom that comes from the fear of the Lord.

As we journey through life, let us seek the deep-rooted and time-tested wisdom by fearing and doing the will of the Lord all the days of our lives. We have been admonished in Proverbs 3:21-23 that “My son(or daughter), do not lose sight of these— keep sound wisdom and discretion, and they will be life for your soul and adornment for your neck. Then you will walk on your way securely, and your foot will not stumble. May we grow in the deep-rooted wisdom of the Lord. Amen

PRAYER

DEAR LORD, GRANT ME YOUR DEEP-ROOTED WISDOM TO LIVE A MEANINGFUL LIFE. AMEN.
