Cheetful giver.

REFLECTION

High-risk strategy-2 is the theme for our reflection. Today’s reflection identifies two weakness believers and the church respectively are at high risk of. The believer is at high risk of giving reluctantly, the church on the other hand is at high risk of forcing or making people give under duress or forcing believers to give through excessive and unbiblical unfounded ways of fund raising.

Paul provides a high-risk strategy to overcome the weakness in giving reluctantly or being forced to give. The high-risk strategy is captured in the phrase “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:7-8) In other words, giving must be done from a cheerful heart in order to please God. Shalom.

PRAYER

Holy Spirit lead us and revive us to give from cheerful and grateful hearts. Amen.
