REFLECTION
Who may abide? is the theme for our reflection. To abide means to dwell or reside. The Psalmist reflects on what it takes to abide with the Lord, therefore, he asked “O LORD, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill?” (Psalm 15:1-2)
The Psalmist goes ahead to list the qualifications of a person who can abide with the Lord. These are:
- A person with integrity (Psalm 15:2)
- A person who treats others with love and dignity, (Psalm 15:3
- A person who is just and is not compromised by evil. A person who is honest. (Psalm 15:4)
- A person who is content and merciful and does not take advantage of the vulnerable through the collection of bribe. (Psalm 15:5)
A person who does all the above faithfully as a disciple and a child of God will continue to abide with Him. In others word “He who does these things shall never be moved.” (Psalm 15:5).
Dear friend you must stand out and dedicate yourself completely to live according to the will and perfect example of our Lord Jesus Christ if you would be considered a faithful steward and found worthy to abide or dwell with the Lord. We have been saved through Christ therefore must continue to live a transformed life to the glory of the Lord. Shalom.
PRAYER
Merciful Father, let your Spirit lead us to live a life worthy of our calling so that at the end, we shall abide with you forever and be told “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.” (Matthew 25:21). Amen.
