REFLECTION
Flower children and bird watchers is the theme for our reflection. Human beings must be watchers or observers of how flowers and birds are nurtured and draw a lesson from God’s providence for these less important but observable creatures in nature. Watching little flowers or flower “children” blossom and birds feed must give us the assurance that God cares for His creation and most importantly we human beings whom He has created in his image and likeness.
Watching or observing the development nature of flowers and birds brings great encouragement and assurance to us believers that we worship an almighty God who cares and provides for His creation and most importantly His beloved children. For this reason we must not allow the worries of life or anxiety have a better part of our lives. “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!…Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. (Luke 12:22-24, 27-29). In other words, We must continue to work or hustle but most importantly have faith in God to provide our needs, for He has proven His faithfulness to even flowers and birds. Paul further assures us to have faith in God because“…He is actually not far from each one of us, for “‘In him we live and move and have our being’…” (Luke 17:27-28). Surely my dear friend “… we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”(Roman 8:28). Shalom.
PRAYER
Almighty God help us overcome anxiety by deepening and making strong our faith in you even as you cater for our needs. Amen.
