Put on Jesus at your armour of Light.
REFLECTION
The armour of light is the theme for our reflection. An armour is the metal coverings formerly worn to protect the body in battle. An armour of light can be described as that which protects one against darkness. Paul admonishes the Roman Christians to put on the armour of light in order to “walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy.” (Roman 13:13).
What then is the armour of light? Paul gives the answer when he wrote that “…put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.(Romans 13:14). In other words, the darkness of sin cannot overshadow us if we put on Jesus the light. We put on Jesus, our armour of light if we live like Him and follow His teachings and examples in our daily interactions with people. My dear friend in the Lord, let us glow in the world of evil and corruption by always putting on Jesus, our armour of light. I must shine and stand out spiritually and morally because “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.(Galatians 2:20). Shalom.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, enable us to overcome the darkness of sin through your ever shining presence in our lives. Amen.
