REFLECTION
“When foundations are shaken” is the theme for our reflection. Paul and Silas were jailed for healing a girl possessed by an unclean spirit of divination. The deliverance of the girl curtailed the financial gain made by her owners through her fortune-telling business. It was for this reason that Paul and Silas were arrested, beaten and jailed under maximum security.
Through the power of faith, prayer, and singing of hymns, “suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately, all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bonds were unfastened.” (Act 16:26). My dear friend, before human beings started laying foundations for their buildings, God had already laid the foundations of the earth. God has the blueprints of the earth because He is the architect who designed and created the world. He is the immovable mover and the unshakeable shaker. No human establishment can hold an anointed child of God captive unless God allows that captivity to subsist according to His will.
Beloved in the Lord, faith, prayer and praise invite God to shake the foundations of oppression and captivity; therefore, I invite you to make time for prayer and praise in anticipation or hope for the Lord’s deliverance in your challenging situation. Jesus has already assured us that “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26) The Lord can shake the foundation of our captivity, agony or hardship to liberate us. Like Paul and Silas, we are greatly emboldened to pray with unshakable faith and hymns, for we serve a prayer-answering God who can shake an age-old foundation of oppression to liberate us. The same prison that had held others captive could not hold Paul and Silas because they prayed to God, and there was a manifestation of the power of God to prove to the human authorities and spiritual principalities that the blessed and anointed people of God are untouchable. Remain prayerful and blessed. Shalom
PRAYER
Almighty God, continue to shake the foundations of oppression and captivity in every part of the world where Your name is called upon so that all may experience Your glory and salvation. Amen.
